Inset training for schools
Organisations like ecoACTIVE can come in and run workshops or one-off sessions with pupils at your school, but the learning shouldn’t just stop there. Without getting teachers and other staff members on board, environmental learning and action cannot be effectively integrated into the life of the school.
ecoACTIVE can help with this, by providing inset training days tailored to your exact needs. We can run training on the Sustainable Schools programme and how it works, as well as the Eco-Schools Award scheme, and can run interactive sessions to help you and your staff come up with plans of how to become a more sustainable school (and possibly win some awards!).
We’ve also developed a range of sessions with both Haringey Council and the Hackney Environmental Educators’ Network (HEEN), with whom we recently collaborated to deliver a Hackney Sustainable Schools training day. Over 45 schools and 100 delegates attended, and it was a great way to share knowledge and meet other education professionals interested and involved in sustainability. These are now a regular feature for Hackney schools who are actively improving their approach to environmental education.
