The Hackney Allotment Society members agreed at the AGM in October 2023 that the waiting list will be re-opened for a limited period to admit up to one hundred new members. The application period will run from 1st and 29th February 2024.

GoParksLondon, in collaboration with the East London Garden Society and the Great Eastern Parks Route, organised a delightful event as part of London Rivers Week. The event led us on a journey through lush green spaces and serene blue waters, offering a unique perspective on London's hidden natural treasures.

Our adventure began at Manor House station and unfolded over a leisurely three-mile walk. We traversed the picturesque Woodberry Downs Wetlands, continued our exploration at Walthamstow Wetlands, and concluded our expedition at Tottenham Hale. Along the way, we immersed ourselves in the history and beauty of these exceptional East London natural sites.

Planting more Postcode Gardeners

It’s amazing to see that Postcode Gardeners are now being rolled out across the country.

Friends of the Earth have identified new areas that would really benefit from some street gardening, by mapping out places that lack green space and are most at risk of air pollution, flooding and urban heating.

In partnership with The Co-operative Bank, Friends of the Earth are funding Postcode Gardeners in communities in these areas, to green up their spaces in the way they want. Together they'll bring back nature to 1,000 spaces across the country.
