Become a FoodCycle Hackney Project Leader

FoodCycle is a national charity that provides weekly, free community meals to those in need. These meals are prepared by volunteers using surplus food that would otherwise go to waste, and are served in a warm and welcoming environment where guests can share in a delicious three-course meal and conversation. We believe that no one should go hungry or feel alone.

FoodCycle Bow Road holds their meals every Friday evening at the Bow Road Methodist Church, while FoodCycle Hackney meets every Thursday lunchtime at the New Kingshold Community Centre. FoodCycle are currently seeking Hosting Project Leaders to join and lead our teams at these sessions.

As a FoodCycle Project Leader, you will have the opportunity to gain a wide range of skills and experiences, while also making a profound impact on the local community. By regularly leading at FoodCycle Bow Road or Hackney, you will be part of a team that helps to build a resilient community through conversation and support for mental health, well-being, and reducing loneliness. Many of the guests are lonely or vulnerable and greatly appreciate the support of the volunteers. Joining the FoodCycle team is a unique opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
