Empowering Educators: A Journey towards a Sustainable, Healthier, and Fairer Planet

In the pursuit of a sustainable, healthier, and fairer planet, the role of educators and school staff is pivotal. As stewards of knowledge, they play a crucial role in shaping the minds of the future generation. To support them in navigating the ecological crisis and fostering a sense of environmental responsibility, we are excited to announce a series of FREE Teacher Training sessions in 2024. These workshops are designed to equip educators with the tools and knowledge needed to inspire positive change within their schools and communities.

Session 1: Introduction to Outdoor Learning and Forest School (Monday 18th March 2024, 4.30pm - 6pm)

The first session focuses on embracing the benefits of outdoor learning and Forest School practices. We recognise the transformative power of nature in education and aim to provide educators with the confidence to incorporate these practices into their teaching methodologies. From reconnecting students with the environment to fostering a deeper understanding of ecological systems, this session lays the foundation for creating a more sustainable and environmentally aware educational experience.

Session 2: Sustainability in Achievable Steps (Tuesday 23rd April 2024, 4.30pm - 6pm)

The second session delves into the practical aspects of sustainability, breaking down the concept into achievable steps for educators to implement both in school and at home. Through interactive discussions and hands-on activities, participants will gain insights into integrating sustainable practices into their daily routines and curriculum. By empowering educators to take small, meaningful steps, we aim to create a ripple effect that contributes to a larger, positive impact on our planet.

Session 3: Waste & Litter (Tuesday 14th May 2024, 4.30pm - 6pm)

The final session addresses the pressing issues of waste and litter, exploring their environmental impacts and presenting effective solutions. Educators will learn how to engage students in discussions about responsible waste management and instill a sense of responsibility towards reducing environmental harm. By fostering a culture of waste reduction and mindful consumption, we aspire to create lasting change within schools and, consequently, in the broader community.
