Explore The Hackney Buzzline on Go Jauntly

As part of the 2024 London National Park City Walking Week we hosted a walk of The Hackney Buzzline. With funding in place and our Project Manager and Postcode Gardener roles filled we thought this was the perfect time to showcase some of the work that has already begun to re-wild Hackney.

The Hackney BuzzLine initiative is aimed at improving pollinator habitats, enhancing cycling and walking routes, and engaging community-based bodies and residents in planting for bees and butterflies. So much work has happened already that this 4km route from Hackney Downs, along Millfields Recreation ground, through Daubeney Fields and onto Mabley Green is worth experiencing.

You can follow the route for free using the Go Jauntly App. We’ve tried to highlight some of the projects we’ve been involved in so far and some of the areas the project will focus on over the next three years.

It’s a lovely walk filled with wildflower meadows, parks with relaxed mowing, community gardens and orchards and of course plenty of bees and butterflies!
